Jenny King ( Writer)
Jenny King is an actor, singer, writer, and proud sixth-generation Texan. In addition to being a founding member of BarCo, she also works as the assistant literary manager at The Barrow Group. She fills her NYC days with auditioning, writing, running after children (she's a nanny so it's ok) and running after cats (she's also a cat sitter, so still ok). Nathan Markiewicz (Director)
Nathan is an experienced director of theatre and multimedia; deeply rooted in the canon of western literature while in constant pursuit of new perspectives, technologies, and interpretations. He holds a BFA in acting from the University of Colorado and an MFA in directing from East 15, University of Essex, and is the protégée of acclaimed British director Stephen Unwin. With a background in acting and performance, he is passionate about collaboration and devising. In addition to directing for stage and screen, he writes, translates, and teaches.
Linda Elizabeth (Teacher)
Linda is thrilled to be a part of this evening of short plays! She recently performed at the Bristol Riverside Theatre in William Inge's Bus Stop (Elma) and prior to that she was in a production of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream at the Gene Frankel Theatre playing Hermia, Helena, Demetrius, and Lysander (the four lovers would switch roles throughout the show as per audience choice!) Other recent New York Theatre credits include: The Lower Depths (Natasha), The Tempest (Ariel), Titus Andronicus (Young Lucius), As You Like It (Audrey), and Dog Sees God (Marcy). Upcoming Film and Television appearances include: Don't Act Dumb (dir. Sean Haynes), Slip (dir. Sam Day), The Perfect Murder (dir. Kevin Kaufman), and the second season of the award winning webseries Plant (dir. Andrew Nielson). Annie Gaarder (Janet)
Annie is a native Texan and graduate of Northwestern State University, and has worked at various regional theatres around the country. She was last seen in Neither Here Noir There at Manhattan Repertory Theatre. Along with film and stage acting, she is a fit model with Bicoastal MGMT. In her spare time, you can find Annie literally pounding the pavement, as she will be running in her 2nd NYC Marathon this November. A huge thank you to BarCo for this opportunity!
Swati LaPerre (Monica)
Swati has enjoyed playing dynamic characters of varied ages, genders and backgrounds, from Beatrice in Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing to the Rabbi in Tony Kushner’s Angels in America. With a flair for comedy and a deep desire to inspire compassion through dramatic roles, she is as comfortable onstage as she is on the set of a film. She has studied performance in professional training programs at The Waterfront Conservatory & Playhouse in Berkeley, CA; American Conservatory Theater in SF; Shakespeare & Company in Lenox, MA as well as the Upright Citizens Brigade in NYC. swatilaperre.com
Sigmond Varga (Joey)
Sigmond is an international actor, improviser, and theater-artist at large. Currently based in New York City, Sigmond has performed in venues as far-flung as San Francisco, London, Hastings, and Moscow. He trained at UC Santa Barbara as an undergraduate and holds a Master of Fine Arts from East 15 Acting School in the UK. This is his Barrington Collective debut and he couldn't be more excited!
Nicholas Pappas (Timothy)
Nicholas is a recent graduate from IU - Bloomington's theatre department where he performed, directed, wrote, music directed, choreographed, or composed for over 30 productions. Since March's reading series, where his play Roulette was read, he also performed in Spicy Witch Production's spring repertory season (Mary Stuart, Could This Meeting Have Been an Email?). He'd like to give a shoutout to his family and his friends. @nickvpappas
Kelsey Martin (Samantha)
Kelsey Martin is thrilled to be playing yet another pre-pubescent child after recently playing "Janet Perlstein" in a Magic Schoolbus remake at the PIT and “May" in Junie B. Jones at Casa Mañana (TX). She is also stoked to be making her Barrington Collective debut! On the side, Kelsey can be seen playing shows around NYC with singer/songwriter Brian Falduto.
